Saving Stitches started in 2005 in response to a tugging on our hearts and a desire to work with our hands to knit, crochet and quilt items for various organizations in need. We also teach our skills to anyone who wants to learn these crafts.
Saving Stitches meets on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month from 9:30am to 12:00pm in the Chaple, year-round. All are welcome to come and fellowship, learn, create and give. Each meeting begins with prayer and we strive to be encouraging and uplifting in each other’s lives.
In 2008, we decided to attach the following verse to each item:
And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin… If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you… But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
- Matthew 6:28-33
