What is a Life Group?
Life Groups are 3 to 20 people that meet regularly for friendship, encouragement, prayer and Bible Study.

Why should I join a Life Group?
Being part of a Life Group can provide you with deep, meaningful relationships that can help you grow in faith, understand the Bible better, provide accountability, provide prayer support and help you manage your walk as you grow closer to God. Also, you will be providing the same kind of assistance to the other members of your Life Group.

Do I have to be a member FBCM to join a Life Group?
No. Life Groups are for everyone.

How do I become a member of FBCM?
You need to have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, be baptized by immersion and complete our Membership Class.

How often does a Life Group meet?
Most Life Groups meet 2 to 4 times a month and meet on a agreed upon days and time.

What can I do if I can't seem to get in a Life Group?
Great question! If you are unsuccessful in finding a Life Group or nobody has contacted you regarding joining a group, let us know. Don't hesitate to contact the Life Group Team with any questions.

What happens at a Life Group meeting?
Life Groups might handling some things differently but they tend to have some things in common. Most Life Groups have a time for socializing and talking about life. Usually a Bible study of something relevant to the members of the group is the central component of a Life Group meeting. Life Groups also provide an opportunity to pray for and care for one another. Many Life Groups serve some kind of refreshment, snack or meal as part of their regular gatherings

Where do Life Groups meet?
Most Life Groups meet in homes in the area. Some meet in local restaurants, office buildings or at MFBC.

Is childcare available?
Each group deals with this issue in it’s own way. Contact the Life Group Leader to find out of a particular Life Group has childcare arrangements.

Can I start my own group?
We really want to encourage people who are interested in leading a Life Group. Select Leading a Life Group if you'd like more information or to fill out a leader application, or contact the Life Group Team.

What does it take to lead a Life Group?
A Life Group leader needs to:

  1. Have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
  2. Be, or have been, baptized by immersion.
  3. Be a member of MFBC.
  4. Comply in the following areas:
    1. Have no current habitual struggles or moral issues (drugs, alcohol, cohabitation, etc.) that would bring shame on the name of Jesus Christ.
    2. Have no current marital struggles (i.e. infidelity, separation, divorce in process, etc.)
    3. Support MFBC's Statement of Faith without any reservation or addition.

How do I get into a Life Group?
Visit the Life Groups' table in the narthex after the services or sign up on the MFBC website by clicking on Join a Group.

What help does MFBC provide Life Group Leaders?
The Life Groups Resource Team provides tools and direction for Life Group Leaders. The Life Group Coordinator can also provide training and support. If you need anything let us know!
